On May 17, 2024, Governor Reynolds signed Senate File 2368 into law. The law requires school districts to publish information about all school buildings on the school district's website. The law also imposes new requirements related to district-owned real estate, including that school districts cannot prohibit the sale of real estate to an educational institution and, when offering school building properties for sale, school districts must accept a bid from an educational institution, if the educational institution had the highest bid.

Beginning on July 1, every school district must publish the following information on its website:

1. The square footage of each school building owned by the school district.
2. The enrollment capacity of each attendance center owned by the school district.
3. How each school building owned by the school district is currently utilized by the school district.
4. School buildings owned by the school district that are vacant.

In compliance with Iowa Code, North Tama is publishing the required information below:

The square footage of each school building owned by the school district:

• The North Tama County Community School District owns a single school building, located at 605 Walnut Street in Traer, Iowa. The current total usable square feet (which includes the first floor, second floor, and third floor but does not include below grade mechanical rooms, boiler rooms, or tunnels) is 114,968 square feet.

The enrollment capacity of each attendance center owned by the school district:

• The enrollment capacity varies depending on use. Based on the current usage, enrollment capacity is approximately 600 students.

How each school building owned by the school district is currently utilized by the school district:

• The district's single school building, located at 605 Walnut Street in Traer, Iowa, is currently being used as a PK-12 public school.

List of school buildings owned by the school district that are vacant:

• The North Tama County Community School District does not own any vacant school buildings.
