Assignment Books

Assignment books will be provided to all students in grades 4th, 5th, and 6th and handed out on the first day of school. Lost books can be replaced at cost.

Keep Collecting

We appreciate your continued support of the school by turning in the following:

  1. Hy-Vee receipts
  2. General Mills box tops
  3. Campbell’s soup labels. Campbell’s new policy is to just clip the UPC bar code label which includes the Campbell’s kid and the point value.

The elementary has richly profited from your participation in these programs. Again, we thank you for your continuing support.

Report cards and conferences using Power Announcement

It is now the standard practice at North Tama for report cards and mid-term reports to be sent home electronically via email using SwiftReachK12. Sending home reports electronically saves the school money in postage, paper, printing, and many hours of labor.

The report card indicates the progress, and attitude of your child and also areas that need some improvement. Grades K-4 utilize a standards based grading system and grades 5 and 6 utilize the traditional (A, B, C, D, F) system for grading. Both systems grade the student in terms of their own educational growth as well as their achievement measured against the standards and benchmarks of the grade level.

Parent-Teacher conferences are held during the middle of the first nine week period. At this time all parents are provided with the opportunity for a scheduled conference. A second conference will be scheduled during the third nine week period of the school year. We encourage parents to set up additional conferences as they see the need. Conferences with parents are very important to us!

Do not hesitate to contact us about any learning need your child may have.
