Swiftk12 Alerts for Cancellations and Delays
North Tama uses SwiftReach/SwiftK12, to provide emergency notifications to parents.
In the event of a delay, cancellation, or early dismissal due to weather, a SwiftK12 alert will be sent via phone, text, and/or email to parents of students registered at North Tama.
Parents were able to indicate their contact preferences notifications at registration, and will receive voice calls or texts or emails as requested.
Parents who would like to make a change in preferences can do so by contacting the school, 319-478-2265.

Parents of North Tama students are already included in our alert system for inclement weather notices. Community members that wish to receive our text alerts regarding delays, cancellations, and early dismissals are invited to sign up to receive text messages.
Cell phone and email address information collected via this form will only be used for sending weather related notices. If you wish to stop receiving notices at any time, please contact the school at 319-478-2265 or trish.kennedy@n-tama.k12.ia.us.

Media Sources for Late Starts, No School or Early Outs
In the event of a late start, cancellation, or early out, North Tama contacts the following media sources:
- KWWL (Channel 7)
- KCRG (Channel 9)
- KGAN (Channel 2)
Please keep in mind that these television stations do not always broadcast our announcements on the air; sometimes, they only list the announcements on their websites. North Tama also has no control over how quickly the announcements are made. The BEST way to make sure you are informed of delays, cancellations, and early dismissals is to subscribe to the SwiftReach Text Alerts described above.
